After all the recent season and series finales, what are you watching on TV these days?
The 4400 comes back on Sunday! I don't even remember what's going on... i hope they show last year's season finale before the first episode. I wonder how the show is going to do with Heroes being such a big success... there's plenty of similarities just on a smaller network.
I've also been digging the new season of Dr. Who, unfortunately it's only on in the UK right now so i've been having to bittorrent this whole season. They're already on episode 10 in the UK and no talk of it even starting here in the states from what i've seen... Maybe they'll start it in the fall?
What's the weirdest baby name you've ever heard (or considered)?
If I were a girl I apparently would have been 'Bianca Prima LaFianza'. My Grandmother said a few years back "Thank God you were boy". Thanks Dad :o)
What's that secret dream job you've always believed you'd be good at, but never gone for?

Four years ago while I was head teller at a local bank, i would have quickly said Photographer! Two years ago while I was working at a photo studio I would have said, Own My Own Studio!
I'm real excited when I look back and realize that I've been on my own for a full year now and we're still alive! Looking forward, I believe I would be good at farming and natural building. Hopefully in a couple years I can look back and see that we have moved into those areas as well!
When was the last time you interacted with any sort of wildlife?
Submitted by warpedreality.
I feel silly answering some of these QotDs... look at me! Look at how connected to the Earth I am!
So yes, I would like to think I interact with wildlife everyday. Just five minutes ago I was calling to the bird in the nest on our deck and I started all the birds in our woods talking. I want the bird to get used to us being around and in her face all the time, hopefully when her eggs hatch she'll be used to us and not turn all protective and mean.
Elias a couple days ago had a long conversation with an owl in the woods... it was REALLY cool. I don't know how far away the owl was but it was definitely talking back to Elias.
We have all kinds of wildlife in our woods that I end up scaring away (or they scare me away)... wild turkey, foxes, wild cats, wolves, mountain lions, deer, opossums, squirrel... most of which think our trash smells yummy!
If money were no object, which five luxury items would you rush right out and buy?

- A Farm outside of Charlotte, NC
- Enough materials for our cob house and reserve an experienced builder!
- Renewable Energy for the whole farm (solar or wind)
- FIOS internet laid out to the farm
- Full photo studio setup
If you could pick a cartoon world to live in, which would it be? Why?
Submitted by Scio, Scio.
Through the winter we watch too much TV. Most of that TV is cartoons. I'd have to say I'd choose to live in Franklin's world... Life is simple in that cartoon... They're always playing in the woods, gardening, having sail boat races... It's a small tight knit community and everyone works together well. They have a newspaper in town, i could be the newspaper photographer. The old one was probably fired after not properly reporting on Franklin finding Mr. Beaver's wallet.
Also, EVERY animal on Franklin is known as the animal's name except for Franklin. Bear is a bear, Owl is an owl, Goose is a goose and so on. I suppose if I were to live there I would just be called Human.
A close runner up would be Little Bear for the same reasons.
Happy Earth Day! What are some of your favorite ways to reduce, reuse and recycle?
Currently Doing:
Cloth diaper, curbside recycling, reusable cloth/canvas bags for shopping, small car with high MPG, laptop instead of desktop, rechargeable batteries, more windows open/less A/C, buy as locally as possible, support small business as much as possible, constantly researching 'natural building' and 'non traditional housing', outdoor activities, thrift stores, halogen lights, organic foods, teaching elias about solar power and renewable energy through solar toys and building kits, gardening, brewing kombucha (keeps me from buying soda!)
Hopefully Doing Soon:
cobbing & strawbailing with local natural builders, terrapass (because i believe in it, not because it's "green-washing-ly" trendy), composting (we throw our scraps in the woods right now, which is fine but we're not benefiting from it), build cob oven (this summer) and then a cob playhouse in the woods!
Would Love To Be Doing Someday:
Pedicabbing!!, live permanently in a cob/strawbale home, farming, milking, primarily use renewable energies, have ~ryeli studios cater to a more eco-conscious crowd - perhaps binding my own wedding albums from recycled papers and naturally tanned leathers
It's funny how much I can look back and see change... Just like Suzy in her answer of this QotD, we didn't set out to do any of this, it just came naturally and built on its self. Three years ago, I don't think we did a single thing I just listed! Maybe I didn't answer this QotD exactly as asked but I wanted to make a list like this for a little while to look back on next year!
What words, for the life of you, can you never spell correctly?
Submitted by Byrne.
I answered this over on Suzy's vox (stop and say 'hi', she's just getting started!) but I have the roughest time with 'definitely' and for a word i over use, i should be good at it by now!
If you have problems with the same word, someone built a site JUST for you:
Have you noticed a climate change in the area where you live over the past few years?
It frustrates me that issue of global warming has been become labeled a "leftist agenda". Christians, the ones who should be the strongest behind protecting and being "good stewards" of what God has given us, have repeatedly shot this down as conspiracy.
Although I think this QotD is setup to illicit a one sided response, i think it still needs to be said again, and again. If you have not looked into it for yourself, please rent, borrow, steal An Inconvenient Truth... I know I can be a crazy hippy sometimes talking about living without dependencies of oil or conventional electricity in a strawbale house but this effects everyone.
I think most of the opposition comes from a fear of change. Everything is going ::ahem:: "well" in an oil dependent world. To think about shifting our lifestyle is uncomfortable and because the ultimate consequences are not immediate we can make fun of it or scoff it off. The world is changing like never before, there's an overwhelming amount of data behind it, we are encouraging the never before seen rapid increase in temperature and it will effect everything. The least you can do is watch the documentary, if you still dismiss the facts, then it is your choosing, at least you'll have made an effort with (hopefully) an open mind.
I have a copy if anyone wants to borrow it.
