We played with Photo Booth for a little while after dinner last night. Elias and Eva made a couple videos. Eli directed (as usual), narrated and picked out the effect he was going for (so excuse the weird pop art)... The MBP webcam really doesn't do well in anything but full sun, so i was manning the flashlight. Elias dances all the time to the music in his head, spinning, twirling, whatever... He has learned to channel his Inner-Napoleon-Dynamite..
A full length animoto slideshow... this is cool! btw... they have a pretty large collection of royalty free music from myspace artists... the song i chose sounded good in the preview, the words don't exactly fit but i didn't hear them until after the movie was built... perhaps i'll rebuild the movie later with a song from my computer.
I worked last night so that today could be field trip day... We printed out some facts about a few monuments, drove around a while until we found a parking space and then hit the monuments that we usually only point to while driving past. Below is our day through images while being a Tourist in Our Own Town:
It was fun taking pictures just to take pictures... Eva is finally getting to the age where I can start to carry my big camera and not regret bringing it. I'd never noticed the DC WWI memorial before, it's off the beaten path, small and needs cleaned. How quickly we forget. Read this for more info after reading that I want to go there again and check it out closer... I didn't get any closer than what you see.
Be a tourist in YOUR town... i'd love to see the images!
i worked until 3am last night and eva decided to get up at 6am. Isn't it nap time yet???
QotD: Am I a morning person or a nightowl? Whichever actually lets me get sleep! It's been a rough two years with little sleep... I can't wait to get eight hours two days in a row again... let's recap sleeping patterns from last week:
Last Night: 3:30a-6am
Thursday: 2:00a-8am
Wednesday: 1:00a-7am
Tuesday: 3:00am-9:30am (we flew home from houston and eva was sick)
Monday: 12:00am-7am
Sunday: umm... don't remember but was up early in the hotel
Saturday: don't really remember either but we were up in early in the hotel
Eva sleeps in her crib but there is also a bed in her room, very often i'll pass out on her bed while putting her down for a nap. Is there an application for more hours in a day? Eva has a sensory disorder and although things have gotten a LOT easier in the last six months, she requires SO much from us. By the time she's finally in bed by 9:00-9:30p, there is a day's worth of chores to be done, dishes, sweeping, laundry, vacumming and preparing dinner for the next day and finally just resting and being adults for an hour or two before going to bed and starting the next day in a few hours.
It's getting easier... Six months ago I had the same sleep pattern but she was waking up three times a night needing a bottle or her blanket... and whatever else.
I enjoy eva very much, she's my little girl and that is a totally different bond then my tough six year old boy (not more or less, just different)... i'm just looking forward to maybe six months from now? maybe a year? i'd just like to be able to do the dishes during the day and get eight hours of sleep.
I didn't set out to make a long post about Eva, but here it is... She's pictured to the left with my Father-In-Law, Gene, last week in Texas at the wedding we attended and I worked. She had SOOO much fun... She was on the dance floor the entire night jumping (a newly aquired skill), flipping and swaying back and forth... It was very funny. Usually she's very intimidated around people, especially a LOT of people... but there were other kids there and good dancing music!
It's me! I'm Sean... SethW brought me in and this is my first experimental post... will i stick around? I've been using xanga since 2001 and although xanga is so very comfortable and has chronicled my life for years... I like the community idea and more control... and of course the web2.0... from the looks of this site so far, vox could be the poster child for web2.0 right down to the color scheme :o)
I'm a wedding and portrait photographer based out of Annapolis, MD. In true wedding photographer style, I'm in a hotel room in Houston, Texas awaiting the start of what should be a great day and a great wedding. I love going into a city that I know almost nothing about and stumbling upon wonderful places to shoot. Today will be a good day. My family and I will be here all week, if you're familiar with Houston, let me know some kid friendly places to go!
