Sure, I've been sick for a week and a half now with a cold that is holding on like a pit bull. And swine flu has hit the kids' school (not my kids luckily). But there are the graces in life that make it all ok.
Not liking:
- Being sick. I've been sick for over a week now. Every time I think I'm done with it, it decides it can go another round. I'm sure Target is staying in business just from the amount of Theraflu and Tylenol Cold I've bought over the last couple of weeks. (Steve and Ashley were sick a week or so ago.)
- My hair. I did have a couple of days where I was really regretting cutting it off. Then I just starting to think of all the things I didn't like about long hair. Couple that with finally pretty much having the styling part down now, and I'm loving it.
- NoiseTrade.com is awesome. Seriously, so much good free music. Just downloaded Alli Rogers. Never heard of her before today, but she's good.
- Allie Moss. Not only is her album awesome, but she actually answers Tori on Facebook. That makes Tori happy which makes me happy. She's just good people. I wish I had the time/money to go to the Ingrid Michaelson concert on Wednesday in Towson. I'd totally bring them all some Nutella goodies because they are all cool, but especially Allie.
- Wednesday night doctrine classes at church. It's just so good to dig down deep into the Bible.
- Hats and scarves. Seriously men, how do you deal with the cold neck thing? I know how I do, cute hats and scarves. I'm guessing you all don't care to run around in fuschia berets and flowered sparkly scarves, but it helps my cold neck.
- Steve. He's just wonderful and cute and I love him.

So, we've been slackers. We haven't carved pumpkins since, oh, 2004. But that's ok. We did today, well, Steve and the kids did. And they are spectacular.
Do you know how hard it is to decide which delicious Halloween cereal to have for breakfast after weeks of Activia yogurt mixed with granola? So hard I had to have a bowl of each. Franken Berry won hands down. Best taste and marshmallow to cereal ratio, in case you were wondering.
Somehow, this doesn't seem very spacey...

i went out with Stefan and Judi Saturday night to see "the Machine plays the music of Pink Floyd" at the Weinberg Theater of the Arts in Frederick. it was fantastic.... i guess it's a touring show. and the lead vocalist/guitarist said that they'd been a band for 21 years. Pink Floyd music is not an easy thing to do, and could turn into something awful... but these guys pulled it off very well. the band was good, the light show was good, and the screen show behind the band was well done.... fun.... there's a band called "the Australian Pink Floyd" that i've seen on tv and dvd. they're a big outfit with lots of musicians and back up singers and the whole shabang. but i liked this four man band better because they were obviously fans of the music and played a more obscure set then the APF band does. these guys hit every record and i liked that. lots of big hits, but lots of lesser known b sides... (except i was disappointed that they did not play "See Emily Play," even though that was the one request being yelled from the audience...) good times....
so,... that night i sat in an aisle seat and right across the aisle from me was a middle aged biker sort of guy with some tattoos. he had a couple of tats on his arm. a snake or something... normal stuff, not that good. not that bad... but he also had tattoos on his head. bad tattoos on his head. on the back of his head he had a sun design, on the right side he had Tinkerbell in her famous pose, bending at the waiste and about to touch something with her magic wand... and on the left side of his head he had a dolphin. a bad dolphin.... wtf.... it's a bold statement to get tattoos on your head, but what does it say about you when you get bad little girl tattoos on your head? .... ?
